It’s not easy out there, especially given that there are so many reasons a company might fail.
Many stem from internal issues and some from uncontrollable external factors. Some you can see coming, some you can’t.
It’s no mean feat being an entrepreneur and we fully understand this.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1271″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]THE FIVE BRICKS & HOW THEY CAN HELP
To make life a little less difficult, and to ensure that as an entrepreneur you’re spending your time and resources on the things that will make the difference. We call this “The Five Bricks”. In essence, it’s a simple structure which encourages you to think about your business from all angles and ensure that no blind spots emerge. It makes it really easy at any point to spin through your business and think “is there anything important that I’m forgetting?” There are five bricks and you have 5 fingers to count them off, which is why we’ve built a quick and easy tool you can use weekly, even daily.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1272″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]THE FIVE BRICKS

The three central bricks are representative of your core business and the two side bricks are the supportive pillars. Failure can just as easily be caused by these supporting factors. It is important to keep as close an eye on them as the central ones.

Having a great product is the foundation for everything else – without this, you’re unlikely to have a business. This brick also relates to production – if you’re struggling to deliver your product or service in quantity, quality and at the right price then you urgently need to spend your time to resolve it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1296″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Being Interesting
You need to be interesting in a way that’s unique to you, and also gets noticed. Interesting; is what people talk about, interesting gets press coverage, interesting travels, interesting sticks in minds; interesting makes you stand out from the crowd. You need to know what “your interesting” is and be living it publicly and internally every single day. Others call it brand positioning, promise, core, purpose, mission. However, we find it simpler and more effective to focus on being interesting. It forces you to consider what other’s think of you, not what you think about yourself. So, do you know what your interesting is?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1295″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Selling Profitably

You need to know your numbers because profitability is how your business lives to fight another day. It’s possibly the single and most important thing that start-ups overlook. So look at them, learn from them and control from them. You may not perceive your finances as the “fun” or the “sexy” side of your business (even the word “finance” might fill you with dread) but don’t underestimate them. The time you spend with them will ensure your profitability in the long term.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1274″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Business Basics

Bad company management or operations can sink your business.
This brick relates to everything you need to ensure things never get in the way of you delivering the magic. This includes cash flow, keeping stakeholders happy and enthusiastic, supply, logistics, and recruitment.
Basically… not messing up.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1273″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Being a Great Entrepreneur

You’re trying to do something amazing – and that’s going to ask a huge amount of you. As an entrepreneur, you’re naturally resilient, determined, persistent, inspiring and hold an irrational belief in your business. This is a great starting point and gets ideas off the ground, but just like an ordinary career path, personal development is vital to long-term success.
This brick is a reminder that your development also needs to be front of mind.
Before you know it you’ll be leading a company that comprises of more than just you, with an established cultural identity, towards a vision that was set by you.
Preparing for this is very important.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1262″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]THE FIVE BRICKS ARE YOUR FRIENDS

Very quickly and easily you can use The Five Bricks to reflect on what activity you’ve been spending your time on over the last fortnight. This exercise can quickly uncover some obvious pain points. Use them again to prioritise for the weeks ahead. Ensure you’re deploying the right resources in the right areas and make sure you don’t drop any balls.
Good luck![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
